Complaining
Where a problem is identified, contact should first be made with the owner/occupier of relevant body responsible for the land on which the ragwort is growing to attempt to resolve the matter.
If the request to take action is not complied with Defra can take enforcement action under the Weeds Act 1959 where ragwort poses a risk to horses, other livestock, the production of conserved forage or other agricultural activities.
